Free Print Making Workshops Inspired by Hugh Miller

As part of LIVE! at Hugh Miller’s Cottage we are giving young people the chance to get involved with free printmaking workshops at the Highland Print Studio

We are giving young people the chance to get involved with printmaking workshops.

LIVE! / BEÒ! Festival is a new, fun participatory arts festival celebrating young people aged 8-26 living in the Highlands that will take place across National Trust Scotland sites this Summer, to mark Scotland’s Year of Young People. Hugh Miller’s Birthplace Cottage and Museum will be one of the sites involved in hosting the festival.

Hugh Miller was a lifelong writer and storyteller, keen fossil collector – and much more! Inspired by Hugh Miller’s work, we are offering printmaking workshops for local young people. These workshops will be run at the Highland Print Studio.

Like Hugh Miller, we want you to be inspired by our local landscape – especially the many amazing shapes, patterns and textures of fossils. During the workshops, you will have the chance to create work inspired by a collection from Hugh Miller’s Birthplace Cottage and Museum.

The work created will be displayed to the public on August 17th 2018 as part of the festival. So why not come along and get creative!
